For those of you who know me, you know that travel has always been an integral part of my life. Over the last 6 months though, I have done more traveling than ever. Packing and unpacking what feels like every weekend has made me feel somewhat uprooted, but I never regret a trip when it's all said and done. This is the start of another long-term adventure, traveling to São Paulo, Brazil, to do a global rotation as part of my internship for my company.

I've been living and working in Indy for a month and was actually supposed to leave for Sáo Paulo last week, on the 2nd. Unfortunately, we (me and the three other interns who are doing the same program) had some issues getting our visas approved on the Brazil side of things on time, so we had to push everything back one week. Luckily, all four of us were able to get our visas and are on our way, or will be shortly, to São Paulo. My trip starts in Indy and takes me through Newark and then down to São Paulo.

I only started packing last night, but had to pack up both my room at my apartment and my suitcases since I really won't be spending any time in Indianapolis when the rotation is over. My stress level was high but my mom came down from Fort Wayne to help me pack up, take me to lunch, and drop me off at the airport. She was a huge help and we left for the airport right on time, with my stress level way below where it normally is at the beginning of a trip. We took some pictures in the airport (have to represent the firm and IU!) and then I walked into the atrium outside of security to talk to my dad a little bit before heading to the gate. Little did I know that one of my friends had made his way from IU up to Indy to see me off!! It was a great surprise and really made for a great start to what promises to be a long trip. Luckily I got there early enough before my flight that we were able to catch up a little bit before I had to go through security and he had to head back down. I wanted to post the picture right now but my camera cord is packed in my checked luggage. Check back for an update within the next couple of days!
