Well, it's Tuesday here, and I am on the move again later this afternoon. Got myself a wwoofing gig in Rakaia which is about 45minutes south of here.
The place I'll be staying is run by a spinning lady. Needless to say I'm pretty stoked about that! Also, I think she's big into meditation and yoga, natural healing and all that. So I'm bringing my yoga pants.
Kinda sad about leaving Christchurch. Really had a blast here. Sonya and Chris were pretty busy with school, but it was awesome just to chill .... spin by day, knit and watch tv by night. What more can you ask for????
I went and saw the ladies at the Spinner's Guild one last time yesterday
Was a really strange day actually, because after spinning I got followed to the bus station by a "holy-moley". This weird guy wanted to give me an "IQ test" and so of course I say alright. He asks me to read some weird sentence which makes no sense, and then count all the "f"s. Then he says "I'm going to ask you a few more questions" "Do you believe in God?". I immediately start laughing ... when I realize he's not laughing it hit's me what his agenda is. Anyways, I say "no" and that gets him all excited to convert me I guess so he walked with me for another 15 minutes blabbing about god ... mostly because I kept asking him to justify himself ... his argument being if you don't believe in god you're going to hell ... mine being why isn't being a good person good enough ... why would I be prosecuted just because I don't believe ..
Holy-Moleys aside, all this spinning though has really got me keen to pursue some "formal" education when I come back home ... and I'm looking into taking a Spinning Certificate Program in Haliburton when I get home. I'll be studying different types of wool, spinning techniques and dying techniques. But we'll see ... if I do that most likely will also be looking into getting another job .... that is if I still want to hit south america ... which I eventually do.
Well, I will leave you all with some photos of my wool.
