It was freezing in Ottawa and hard to walk out without a hat and earmuffs. After I left the parliament, I dropped by the War Memorial
The Canadian Museum of Civilisation offers free admission every Thursday evening and luckily I visited the museum on Thursday. However, the way to the museum was harsh. I thought the capillary blood vessels on my face were almost frozen. Anyway, I arrived the museum alive. Interestingly, in the museum, all the staff greeted me in French and English at first. Then because I greeted back in English, they started talking to me in English. I realised that they had to speak both of the languages. Most of the French speakers in Quebec speak only French and it is very natural. Some French speakers hate to speak English, even if they understand English. Unfortunately, because most foreign tourists speak English, they are talked by tourists in Enlish. That must be very uncomfortable to them. I am Japanese and if I was talked by overseas tourists in Korean language, I would definitely refuse to talk to them. So the staff should be bilingual. Anyway, the museum itself was wonderful, especially the first floor was awesome. I liked their totem poles and First Nation figures.
