To get into Slovakia from Hungary, I just crossed the Danube river at Esztergom. It was the easiest border-crossing I had ever experienced. I didn't show my passport or get a visa stamp at the border and I didn't even talk to anybody to cross the bridge. Unfortunately, there are different currencies in the two countries and I couldn't buy anything after I crossed the border, although the city of Sturovo looked fun to stroll around with icecream in hand. I didn't know anything about the beautiful city, but I didn't think it was a tourist spot.
