Believe or not, Croatia was the best spot in my journey around Europe. I arrived at Zagreb station around six in the morning. So I had to wait for the moneyexchanger to open, because I couldn't use a coin operated locker without Croatian money. After I left my large backpack, I strolled around the small capital city. Walking along a large and beutiful park in front of the station, I reached a square with a TI office, but it was closed. There was a fruit and vege market at the back of the square where I bought 1 kg of strawberry, because I had felt short of vitamine C. A while later, the TI office opened and I asked about the way to Plitivice Lakes National Park. The park was a two and half hour bus ride from Zagreb and so I headed for the bus terminal to catch a long distance bus.
At the entrace of the park, I bought a ticket including the fare of boats and trains running across the park. The park was huge and it was impossible to travel only on foot. There were some model courses depending on your time to spare in the park. I chose a lower lake course taking three to four hours and it was a right choice
When I got back to Zagreb, as always, I hadn't booked a hostel. Fortunately, I had happened to see a sign of a backpacker's hostel in the train station. So I headed for the hostel "Hostel Lika". It was very easy to get there, because there were a lot of footprint signs leading you from a tram station to the hostel on the pavement. I met a Japanese seakayaker, Mr. Fukuda. He was very nice and modest and I was lucky and glad to meet him. He told me about his stay around the coast of Croatia and attractions of seakayak. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to spend in the coast, but After listening to his talk, I felt like going there, too.

Plitivice Lakes
. The water of the lake was so transparent with a lot of fish. You couldn't imagine there was such a splendid natural beauty in a small country like Croatia. I took more and more pictures than I expected. A friendly British asked me to take a picture of him. I still remember he got terrible sunburnt all over his face. Anyway, natural beaty in the park was marvelous and I understood why the number of Japanese tourists was increasing especially these days. I saw a lot of signs written in Japanese. My cousin also chose Croatia for his honeymoon destination and I believe it was a good choice. When I got back to Zagreb, as always, I hadn't booked a hostel.
