I got up on the train before the arrival at Vienna. Actually, I spent only half a day in the capital city as I had planed. My destinations were the Hofburg and the Opera at first. So after I took a rest for a while in the park near the main train station, I headed for the Hofburg. The reason to visit the Hofburg was because of its beautiful picture in LP guide. So I thought the building in the guid was "the Hofburg" and looked for it. I checked the location of the Hofburg and walked carefully looking around the landmarks. However I was lost and even though I asked a few pedestrians where it was, but they didn't speak English. In addition, when I found the same building as in LP guide, entered it and asked for a ticket, the receptionist told me that the building was just a public library... I didn't know if there were more attractions, but I happened to find a imperial apartment and so tried it. That was exactly what I anticipated with glittering housewares. The ticket included the entrance to Sissy's museum. I liked a lot about her and so it was better than the apartment.
I skipped Schonbrunn Palace on purpose, because it must have been very crowded and expensive as well. Originally, I don't like glittering materials very much. I have heard that Japanese tours always drop by there, but it does't matter for me. Then, my next destination was the Opera. It operated various language guided tours a few times a day, not to attend an opera. Without a guided tour, you couldn't walk around the theater. Anyway, the guide explained the whole inside, but I was busy with taking pictures and couldn't listen to her explanation...
I was quite tired when I left the Opera, because I had carried my large backpack on the whole day. As a matter of fact, I couldn't find a locker where I could leave my baggege at the main station. So I decided the next destination was the last stop in Vienna. At that time, I was fed up with churches and so I skipped St. Stephen's Church, too, and I visited Stadtpark to see Johann Strauss. I took a picture of him and lay on the bench close to him, but I should have lain on the grasses just like Viennese did to sunbathe in the park. Anyway, that's all I did in Vienna.
