To tell you the truth, I expected an unstable and dangerous city from Belgrad. however, it was truely peaceful. I didn't have any travel information before the arrival, because my guide was "Best of Eastern Europe" and it didn't spare any pages for Belgrad. So, as I always do, I checked up on Thorn Tree Forum and found out that the best atraction of the city looked Kalimegdan. It was a spacious park with a castle citadel ruin, a small church, an archeological museum, a military museum, some monuments, and basketball and tennis courts. I guessed it was a popular complex not only for tourists but also for residents. The view from the citadel was beautiful with Danube river...again. There was a simple, small, but lovely church near the citadel. By the way, I prefer small one like that, because I don't understand why churches should be gorgeous like other many castles I have ever visited in Europe. After strolling and sleeping on the grass, I headed for the Kneza Mihaila Street. There were nothing to do there. I also went to the gate of the botanic garden, but it looked boring and so I skipped it. I had really nothing to do before the departure. So I took a walk along the bank of the river on the opposite side of CBD to kill time.
By the way, I was surprised to see the citizens drink tap water and asked one of them if it was safe to drink. He said "no problem", but the water apparently looked cloudy. So I tried to stop filling the plastic bottle with it, but he insisted it was drinkable and asked for others' agreement as well! Eventually, I stored the water and I could drink it without any problems.
