I mistakenly believed that 'bushwalking' is the Australian word for hiking or trekking. I like hiking and trekking, so I got interested in bushwalking and joined Central West Bushwalking Club on the 17th of June. Then I realised the fact that bushwalking is "a walk in the bush", not just a walk in the mountain! In other words, bushwalkers walk in a forest even without trails. You cannot tell how much excited I was when I knew it. I was very lucky that I was able to join the bushwalking club with experienced bushwalkers, because it is obviously impossible for a beginner like me to walk in the bush alone. This time, I walked around Wolgan Valley, which is graded as 3 (Moderate). The walk was not so hard, or rather enjoyable for me and it reminded me of boyscout experiences when I was young. In addition, cliff views of Wolgan Gap were a big reward. Actually, I am expecting more from the club now. I hope to try harder walks as well as camping some day.
