Wellington is the capital city of New Zealand. Compared with Auckland, it is quite small, but more beautiful, and I liked it. When the bus arrived in Auckland, I had not booked an accommodation, so I got off the bus in front of a hostel in the middle of the city. In reality, I was pretty optimistic, trying the hostel without reservation, but they didn't have any vacancies. Fortunately, the hostel was very helpful to call another hostel, finding a vacancy for me. There was another backpacker at the reception, trying to stay there. So we headed for the other hostel together. Her name was Sherry, a British teacher. She was a nice girl, but she didn't stay in Wellington long.

The best tourist destination of Wellington is absolutely Te Papa National Museum. I don't like museums so much, but this one was excellent in spite of admission free. I met a Kiwi who spoke Japanese and he looked friendly to Japanese visitors. I also happened to see the Japanese girl again who I had met in Auckland, so I enjoyed dinner with her after that. Strangely, I was destined to see her once more in Auckland later. Although another famous tourist spot must be the parliament buildings and I joined a guided tour there, it was not special compared with the other parliament buildings I have ever visited but the appearance of the next building called "Beehive" was unique.
