With only half a day or so in London before I was to board a bus back to the Continent, I wanted to get as much in as I could. How much can he see?:
Westminster Abbey: Over 3,000 people buried here. I totally stood on top of Charles Dickens and Rudyard Kipling. Sorry fellas. There's everyone there from Newton to 1,000 years of Royalty to a dude that lived to be 152. Must have been that British food keeping him alive.
London Eye: Massive Ferris wheel. Yup, that's all I've got to say about that.
British Museum: Where nothing is actually British. Given that the sun used to never set on the British Empire, they did bring a lot of goodies back to town to put on display. While admiring the Rosetta Stone I heard another American tourist ask her friend "Uh, like, what's the Rosa Stone all about?" I went apoplectic on her. Oh, and I saw Cleopatra. She says hi by the way and to call her.
A plate of fish and chips at the tavern later, and it was off onto the bus. On the bus I got to sit in the midst of a bunch of Bellarussian college students coming back from an English-language trip. Not that means they spoke any amount of English at all. I had a ball joking with them in my broken Russian and got invited to stay with them should I ever be in the neighborhood. These guys were pretty cool so I just might.
This time our bus drove onto a boat. I guess the trolley must have taken our spot on the train.
While in London I met old friends, made new ones, and learned to wave like the Queen (upper arm parallel to the floor, elbow at 90 degrees, hand in a cup shape doing a circle around the wrist). All in all, not a bad popping-in.

Moral of the story: Like I'm still not even kidding about those ghosts from 2 posts ago.
