Another 8am start on the bus and yet another fucking Sausage Fest of a bus and minging girls! :o(
Stopped at a place called Nimbin - this is definitely the most random place I've been in my life! Hippy Central! Even the police are chilled out! Everyone is properly on a drug of some sort! Marijuana being the most popular! An 80 year old woman sold us some space cookies! Bloody good too - but I think that may have been due to the fact I had a few litres of Goon inside me as well! We just missed the "Mardi Grass" festival and the annual rolling a joint competition! Went to a Candle Factory - hmmmm......jazz....nice! Finally arrived at Surfer's Paradise (centre of the Gold Coast). Proper commercial area with a shedload of tourists no doubt brought there by its many theme parks!
Shared a dorm with 2 Scandanavian dudes and then a couple of guys I'd see for a lot more of my journey on the way up - Brian and Eammon (both Irish!). Suffice to say that we had some random conversations and I couldn't understand a feckin word they were saying half of the time! Beached it up with a bit of Rugby for a lot of the day - finally getting a tan! Nailed a box of goon before going out and playing Poker for a bit of money - Thankfully I ended up doing OK! I think the guys got affected by the space cookies! :o) Had a bit of bar crawl with people that were staying in Beaches (backpackers) but I was in Planet Minnelli that night, chatted to every female that moved and doing rather well! However, the cookies must have kicked in late doors as I found myself totally lost and the other side of Surfers Paradise!
