We had a 3 day bush camp into the south eastern part of the delta which was amazing... Highlight being walking with a guide (but with no guns) up to a watering hole with about 25 hippos ... Pretty hairy stuff in hindsight, especially as we were actually standing in one of the walkways into the lake - something which if there was a hippo behind us would have been a bit problematic... The faith in our guide was also non-existant, especially as his solution to any potential charge from a Hippo was for us all (thats about 10 people) to climb a tree - of which there was only one within 200 yards !! Oh well, bit of danger is good fun ?! Other highlights included seeing a Hyena chase an antelope across the plain, as well as getting really close to quite a few elephants, something which was a totally different experience on foot as opposed to in the truck (which we had experienced in Etosha the previous week).

I also have to admit being a bit of a girl about not having any running water or facilities of any kind for three days - although having said that, everyone was ecstatic about getting back to the campsite to scrub themselves down in a cold shower, which seemed luxurious compared to the delta !!
