July 14th

I slept in again today. I didn't get out of bed until nine thirty. I ate scones in the morning with tea and a wiki & banana. We went downtown to central Rotorua for a shopping expedition as well as to look for a cheaper internet station. We parked at a parking spot that had a parking meeter. Parking is very cheep in New Zealand, unlike clothes and food XD It costs a dollar an hour. We walked around browsing the shops and then stopped at a bank. I took out some more money (sigh) and then hopped into some clothing stores. There are many sales going on at the moment, winter sales, but the prices were still a little steep. We found an internet caffe that gives out 30mins for 1,50.

The first shirt I bought cost me 17$ on sale which I though was a good deal because it was a sports shirt. Usually they are made out of a special material that breaths better then normal clothes. So I bought this blue shirt along with a post card and a stamp. I like the shirt a lot Xd It fits nicely. After this shop we stopped by some souvenir shops and I bought another key chain. I want to get one at every stop we make. I'm putting them on my back pack as a reminder of all the places we've been in New Zealand when I get back home.

There's a store named the Jade warehouse and they are a souvenir shop. I had seen a poster advertising t-shirts for 10$ and wanted to go check it out. We arrived and found that the t-shirts were a little hidden and there wasn't much variety. I got three shirts for 30$ which is the cheapest we've seen anywhere. We then started heading back to the car for we had told the grands that we'd meet them back at 3'o clock. On the way we passed a clothing store that had the most interesting skirt I've ever seen. It was white with lots of zippers in it. It was so unique I wanted it :p But it was took big for me and too small for my mom so I had to let it go.

We got back to the car before the grands and decided to eat lunch. We crossed the street and sat on a bench under the trees near a church. The sidewalks in Rotorua are very nice, neat and clean. They are wide enough for cars to drive on and they are built with red brick with a beige border along it. The cross walks dip to the road but there are no other markings for pedestrians and there are no signs that say that it is necessary to give way to pedestrians so it's a little more dangerous.

The drivers here are reckless and dangerous to pedestrians.

I spent some time in a second hand store and bought three other shirts for 6$!! Good deal and totally worth it!

Woot, hopefully I can get over my greed.
