hey yall,
Today was pretty boring. I guess you could say that we took the day off to relax after unning arround Auckland so much. We slept in untill 8.30 this morningand took our time getting out of bed. Then we ate breakfasst at out leasure, we foudn that the milk had turned rancid from the car ride up here so we ate our cerial with my chocolate soy milk. I like my corflakes to taste like chocolate once in a while but I don't know if I'd like bran with chocolate milk. Then we sat arrounf for a while before cleaning the dishes and going to brush our teeth and wash our faces. I used the internet, which costs 6$ an hour here to send out some more e-mails.
Around 12 we headed over to the Hotel were the gran folks are staying. We packed ourselves a lunch of peanut butter & cheese sandwhiches and some apples. Then we walk down to the beach. We walked along the beach and found a beached shark, it was one of the saddest things I have ever seen. I must have been really reasent because the body had not been eaten by the nirds yet. I took some more money out of the bank, I've already spent 300$ this week that's like 250 Canadian.. Most of it goes towards food, but here's the 90 some I spend on tours and presents for the people back home. The weather's really nice, nice and sunny though we could do without the wind. It does rain ocationaly but not that often and not for that long. After we ate lunch along the warf we paid a visit to the information centers. We can go see the Bay of Islands, take a boat out to see the dolfins, go up into the mountains for a nice hike, visit the mawii treaty house which may or maynot include viewing mawii dancing, browse the small town for good finds or take a 10$ fairing to Rusell.
Today we decided to look arround town and explore a little. The town is cute. Itès charming with all it's little shops and boutiques. You get the feeling that everyone here knows one another and that if you stayed here long enough you would too. The people are very friendly and horpitable. The shops are quaint, not too big but not small either and there are plenty of them tucked away in little allyways so that you have to hunt for the ones that will give you a good deal. Today I bought a new walet that can hold all my cards and more and a nice new blue belt ^^. The town has a library that gorgeous. It's a converted house or rather a house converted into a library. I have pictures of that too.
For supper we had Orange ruffie ( a type of fish ), patatos, muscles, carots and chard. I didn't eat any muscle but apparently they're really good. The kiwi's here are superb.
If there's one thing I learned about Auckland, it's that New Zealanders love their tea/coffe. Also, there were tones of sushi places in Auckland, and lots of asian imagrants. It was fasinating to people watch and see all the different styles of clothing people wore.
I'm tired now, it's late...well for me since I'm still sick. (10pm) I hope you're all having fun!
