Kili--up part IV
Entry 7 of 41 | show all | print this entry |
Return to watch us:
-NOT be last outta camp in the morning! -scale the intimidating "Breakfast Wall" and see if we did leave eggs and toast along the way -edge ever closer to that absolutely massive glacial crater lip hovering above -disappear in and out of fog and mist (what's the difference?) as we motor steadily up, then down into Karanga Valley, then up again to Karanga camp at 4200m/13,800ft about 4 hours later -try not to get blown out of camp and off the plateau edge by the merciless wind -attempt to have some control over the raging butterflies; the bid for the summit will start in about 35 hours... -try not to be concerned about the woman (who turned out to be a doctor) fall and possibly break her wrist (and her head) on the way to the camp today -hang tenuously onto the belief that none of us are having digestive problems...
