With crumbling finances, a world cup to watch and a trip back to England planned, we have tried to keep things on the down low as much as possible over the last few weeks. We went over and visited Carl and Laura again, and sat and moaned about England playing (if only) football. I stayed on for a couple of days, while Kate went back for some quality time with her family, and a rather long and beautiful walk, how healthy!

The weather was sunny the week before last, and kind of like early autumn back in the motherland, but no chance of any sun tans. We're gonna get back, and England will all be brown, seems unfair. Apart from the usual cracks about poms, Australians are treating us well, and the football went crazy over here for the first time with the world cup and all, they did however have a bit of stereotypical pom night on big brother, not that I was watching it of course.

So far the best and the wost thing about aussie land, is the breakfast and coffee, coffee shops are crowed everywhere, and I'm hooked on the good stuff, and in these places you can normally find the best cakes, sandwiches, you name it, pancakes, ice cream, aaggggggggghhhhhhhh. Good to eat, bad for the waste line. Last week, we completed the odd job around the house and fatted up some more....

On Thursday we headed down to Melbourne, no cheap busses like Asia, but still the 15 hours of enjoyment and crooked neck, I know poor us! The trip to Melbourne allowed us to meet up with Brett and Amelia who we met on the China tour 7 moths ago, and had agreed to very kindly put us up and put up with us for a few days, big thanks, and especially to Millies mum for tours and food.

Peace, Danny and Kate

ps. Check out the cold and windy pics from the walk, there were Southern Wright Whales in the water but were not being cooprative enough for pictures, shame but still very beautiful. Thanks again to everyone for letting us crash and generally make a mess while staying and looking forward to repaying the favour when we eventually have a place - all welcome! Kate
