Very sorry everyone that we haven't been able to keep up with the blog. We have been staying in very remote places . No electricity, let alone internet.

Traveled to Arches National Park from Grand Junction in the morning, took this little two lane road as a short cut, had been told that it was a senic route by my brother. At first I wondered if it was the right thing to do, very rough road in the middle of nowhere, suddenly we started seeing prarrie dogs everywhere. The kids went crazy taking pictures. The route turned into one of the most scenic routes I have ever imagined. Had a wonderful time traveling it. Enjoyed Arches very much took longer there than planned. Drove down to Mounment Valley, ran in to a family at an Indian Jewely stand, who were from Princton NJ. Were true christians and had a great time talking to them. Decided to try to make it to Canyon De Chelly that night. Drove for approx 3 hrs across vast desert plains with only an occ. cluster of indian shacks.  Finally got to Canyon De Chelly at approx. 10 pm (the time change worked in our favor) set up camp while doing so an Indian man approched us trying to sell us some painted rocks. He seemed to be possibly under the influence of firewater, but was not an unpleasant fellow. Have been in the vast monority for the past 8 hours every stop we make everyone has been American Indian. Very interesting -Glenn
