Not to alarm anyone, but I made a quick itinerary change and flew home for a two week visit. Everything is great I just stopped updating until I was reminded that this visit home is actually a big part of my travels.

The Willie Nelson concert was fantastic and I partied with alot of wild Americans. The fireworks for July 4th were drwoned out by Willie and his hit "on the road again' but they were a magnificant backdrop to the open stage.

Before I flew from Houston back to Edmonton, Alberta I made a visit to music capitol Austin, Texas. A terrific clean, safe city, very unlike the rest of mighty Texas. After viewing the art center and the magnificant Capitol building of Texas,I checked in at the HI hostel on the South bank of the lake (more of a river through the middle of the city). A cold drink to cool down from 102 F and I joined a German lady on a canoe trip up to Commerce bridge 1/2 hr paddle on the calm waters during sundown. Sparrows are going crazy at this time of day along the banks and then highlight of watching a million bads erupt from under the bridge as the sun set. Tons of people along the bridge and shore to watch but we had the best seats as the bats overhead created an endless giant black cloud. We returned to the hostel for something to eat and then I went out to 6th Street downtown. Known for the amazing live music venues the long street of bars offers everything you want for a show and 50 cent hiballs. After a great time at Ninos, blues bar I went to the 8 person dorm room for rest.
