Well Houston was a nice place. Just o.k. not really the travellers paradise. Really spread out and no-one was celebrating Canada day. I left Thomas in Houston and drove to Dallas stopping along the way at the Sam Houston monuement on I45 and then side roads to Eureka where I found a marina with a bar. Big lake but no beaches all clay bottoms. Martini's - it was +90 at 10 am today (35 C) unbearable humidity and my AC vent fan died - I think I will be next....
The landscape is green trees brown golf course and rolling hills with cattle. Dallas by nightfall. I went to the 2 hr weekly rodeo in Mesquite - pretty good, same as at home. Bull Busting, Barrels and roping. I then stopped at a downtown firehall to orientated and they were so busy they barely had time to visit. 20 calls in 15 hrs. Full fire / paramedic service. I went to Deep Ellum, Ayeders, and angry Dog. Lots of fun but kind of a sketchy district. met up with a couple locals and we are going to Fort Worth tonight for a Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan open concert.
