No backpackers here. No hostels in TE or MI. Firehall is great. Clean up directions and they know where the food is. They are hosting an open house this weekend too! Best firehouse Museum I have seen yet. Rendezvous for BBQ Ribs...fantastic! They have a smoker that hold 30 racks of ribs at once you just follow the smell downt the alley to the doorway. mmmmm
Holy it's HOT. 90 F with 100 humidity. Lucky Shifty has AC. I went to Nashville, Neat City but didn't seem very busy. Visited the Country Hall of Fame - yes a neat visit, but not really my thing. So I go to the firehall. Engine No.9 y'all come 'o'n and have some grits. Shower, food and then a ride on the Tiller engine truck (articulating with a driver on back)they went to a medical assist first but then dropped me off downtown on Broadway st. This is real - live country music coming out of every second doorway - and they are really good!! Meet some locals that are boozin and dancin and stay pretty late. They go until weeee hours here. Bar hopping included Tootsi - where alot of legends have been discovered, Wild horse saloon and of course Coyote Ugly. Big Chris this is like Cook County heaven. Well stop at the classic diner diner across from the firehall on the way home. The rule here is - when you look around and feel like an oreo cookie, time to go home. Wise words. Next morning I drove to Memphis about 4 hrs west I40. Appears quite and almost poverty. Nice downtown they have built up but everyone warns not to go outside of the beaten track at night.
