Well, I went out to the Lower Deck for some live traditional maritme music. (Banjo and fiddle) some Keith's and then joined an American and two Sask girls to the Keith's bar. $2.00 drinks. Yahoo. Well the morning was groggy but too sunny to sleep away. So I left Halifax - a great place to visit and deserved more time but I wanted to see Peggy's cove. The most photographed place in Canada for a reason. Beautiful. Postcard perfect. Also visited the crash memorial for SwissAir nearby. The coastal drive is really nice but repetitive and instead of driving to Yarmouth (seriuosly) I drove north to New Brunswick because the ferry was goig to be over 100.00$ I stopped in Wentworth, NS a quite little town with scattered houses, hostel and caves, hikes , climbing etc. But then I carried on the main Trans Canada, not much to see because of all the trees but quick. I don't stop until I reach St John, New Brunswick. What a hole. Sorry but most unimpressive visit yet. Nice people but the City doesn't offer anything
I made quick time in the morning and went to visit Roger's brother Steve in St Stevens next to the USA border. We went clam hunting and drinking. Quiet town and along a very touristy pathway. Touristy because it offers beautiful clear and deep lakes, ocean front and little wharf shops. Kayaking wasn't available yet so we went out to the family cabin in the middle of nowhere. Great stuff and then sat on the docks at the lake having some Alpine.
Well, if you like golfing this is a good area. The rest is almost behind the times.
I crossed the border this morning successfully. Yoo a fireman? Yup... Go ahead. Glad they didn't go through Shifty - it would have been a mess. I am making trails for Boston by nightfall - or somewhere near.
