All is well out here. The past week has been ridiculously windy. From about 9:00 in the morning until about 9:00 at night the wind has been incessant. It calms down in the evenings, only to pick right back up the next day. On one hand it makes the heat a bit more tolerable (even though the wind is hot, too) on the other, everything I own is covered in sand. It really doesn't even make sense to try to clean. After about an hour everything is dirty again... Even walking around outside can prove to be difficult; it is like trying to walk passed a sandblaster. I do like the Mauritanians do and wrap myself head to toe in fabric. I looked at myself in a mirror and thought I pulled it off pretty well, though somehow everyone in town still knows it is me. If they can recognize me under all the robes and turbans, I must REALLY stick out....ha ha.
Classes are going well. We finally received our generator which means we can now use all four of our computers at the same time (and also teach more girls in one sitting). I get to play electrician this week, wiring the center and setting up the generator. We are also going to do some rearranging and painting. A BIG thank you to all of you at CCU who donated supplies to our center. We know how much work it was to organize everything and send it over to us. Please know they are deeply appreciated and will be put to good use.
Other than that, there is not a whole lot else to report. I don't really have any new pictures for you, but I found some from a hiking/climbing trip I did a few months ago while visiting Aioun. I don't think I have posted them before, but if I did, please enjoy then again!
