So we took a bus to Serasa in Brunei...a bus filled with Malaysian university girls...we take a ferry from the port of Serasa through the South China Sea to Labuan, Malaysia. Labuan is a small Malaysian Island where anything goes. It is the Southeast Asian equivalent to the Canary Islands: tax-free,no laws, very very cheap (a port town/island)...people come here to do things they can't do at home. It was an eye-opening experience, to say the laest.

We got through Malaysian customs and headed to a 5 star resort, right on the ocean, with a lagoon pool and spa, gym, sunset bar, free buffett, room service...and guess how much we paid? The equivalent of 30$ Canadian each per night! Amazing. Livin' like kings. We stayed 2 nights at this tropical paradise. We met all these crazy Norweigan sailors and went drinking with them. These guys were crazy...and the bars were even crazier.
It turns out that in Labuan, all the nightclubs are officially brothels. Yup, it was quite the culture shock.

Next on our agenda is a ferry to Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia. Our starting point for climbing the highest peak in Southeast Asia. Oh yeah, and a place once listed on the world's most dangerous places list.
