The GBR is 45 miles offshore from Port Douglas and it takes about 90 minutes to get there. Today the weather was less than perfect with high winds and large swells so Renee decided to not come on the excursion. It was a wise choice as many were quite seasick.

I went alone as snorkeling on the GBR was high on my bucket list. I snorkeled for 2 hours and thoroughly enjoyed it. Incredible number and varieties of fish and corals. The cruise supplies full Lycra body suits in case of jelly fish attacks which made me feel more relaxed. Most of the fish were small and I didn't see any sharks.

Great day and worth the trip to Port Douglas. Tomorrow we fly to the city of my birth, Brisbane.

Wow, you two! Crikey! First you're touring with Scarface, then Michael - you are snorkeling in the Reef! What a great time!

I am living vicariously through this !

Have fun!
