So I arrived in Cusco from Arequipa, eager to meet up with the lads, Ed and Col, and also for good night out in the town, because I hadnīt had one yet since I came on my travels. No word from the lads at the time of going for dinner, so decided to head out on my own on the town, got langers, and somehow ran into the two of them that night! Great laugh. Delighted to be in the company of the 2 eejits, not that I remember much about that night!

So we recovered that next day and the following day we were off to the sacred valley for the inca trail. We were lucky enough with the gang of 12 that we got to travel with, everyone turned out lovely, so the crack was good. I donīt know how to describe the inca trail, it was definitely one of the best things that I ever did. Its just amazing. alot of walking over the 4 days, over 40k through mountains, all on stone steps laid over 1500 years ago by the incas. Altitude sickness was kept at bay with plenty of water and coca leaves, and it only rained a few times so we were lucky enough. We had a team of porters who followed along the way and carried everything for us. Our heavy bags, the food tents tables chairs, everything! Felt bad, like lazy, that these poor fellas are tearing up the mountain side with all our gear, but we tipped them well. There was a fair bit of eejiting along the way too obviously, and good old fashioned banter was had along the way too.

We got to see some ruins along the way, but the fourth day arriving at machu piccu was definitely the highlight obviously. I think Iīll let the photos and the videos uploaded tell the story for me...

Afterwards when we got back to Cusco, we were pumped up and went straight out. Great night, all of the crew from the trip and the guides, who we introduced to Drinking Irish style! How sorry they all were afterwards!

Found it very hard to get out of Cusco, because its such a party town, but about a week after the inca trail, we mananged to finally leave (cause we were all so sick of drinking!) and because the lads wanted to try the sandboarding that Iīm such an exert at (ahem..) I decided to follow them back to Ica for a few days on the way back to Lima.

Also, not sure if everyone was aware, but Clashmore GAA club are currently selling polo shirts, for more info check out the contact section of the website.
Heres an example of a handsome your devil modeling such a polo shirt....
