So first night in Laos was spent in a small town with nothing to do. There is only one restaurant, called the "OnlyOne Restaurant".

After a disappointing dinner and our first taste of Beer Lao, (soon to be a favourite) we headed across the street to a small school where the kids were learning english so we could be the first native English speakers to have a chat with them. Informative - the 14 year old girls were impressed with all UK households having internet connections - i was impressed to see every one of them leaving on their own motorbikes.
