We hopped on a bus to go to the shopping district of Houston today.......little did we know that the bus was a place where a fair bit of trade, charity and general generosity took place. At first we were offered some blueberries by a complete stranger which we politely declined. Then, after having some Chinese food for lunch and making our way back to the flat on the bus again, a woman turned around in her seat and eyed up Little Mike's tinfoil container of leftover fried rice and offered to trade with him. She rummaged around in a carrier bag and came up with a big silver tin can with a plain white label stuck to it on which, in big black letters, was written the following legend......

Little Mike made a snap decision to give her the rice and not taking the tasty treat she was offering and we got off the bus asap before the crazy lady started giving us road-kill recipes.

Later on that evening we ended up in a pub called The Social which was full of surly men called Tito and Esteban. It was here that we met Joe. He was the roundest man I had ever seen and had no neck. It was his birthday and the drunker he got the angrier he got. I do recall him ripping a set of balloons off the back of a chair and releasing them into the sky. When asked what he was doing he snapped "F*ck off, I’m making a wish"........the night spiralled out of control and I would be lying if I said I remembered everything, so we’ll leave this day and move on.
