Delhi - Bakshi family visit - Part 1

Too short but very sweet!

One last and longer than expected journey to Delhi finds us at the end of our little adventure with Mintu our driver. After a hug and a generous tip for keeping us safe, he drops us off at Le Meridien Hotel......no we're not that posh. Budget to mid-range accommodation is our bag and this place certainly does not fit into either of these categories!

Our night in Delhi is to be spent with some of Mish's family (Dad's cousins to be precise) and Mish is really excited about seeing them again after 10 years and introducing the new member of the family - Mike that is Those Bakshi's... they get everywhere...

!

We meet Mina who heads up the beauty palour and spa at the Meridien and so Mike sneaks in a free haircut. Again, we are faced with terrible traffic but this time it is due to the Russian President paying a visit nearby - how inconsiderate! Don't they know we have a party to go to?! We finally reach home and quickly get ready and leave for Ambi's house.

It is a fantastic coincidence that our night in Delhi happens to be the night of Ambi and Surinder's 50th wedding anniversary celebration so we are lucky to be gatecrashing the family get together.

We had a wonderful night with everyone, Mish getting help with everyone's name and working out how she is related to them and Mike mingling with the family, talking about our travels and swapping business cards!

Raj, Mina and Mohit, if you are reading this - thanks for letting us stay and sending you and the rest of the clan lots of love!

After a couple of hours kip, we rise early to catch a flight to Kolkata to spend time with more family and get hitched!!
