a middle school track coach, Chinese acrobats, and pirates
Today we've been the fortunate beneficiaries of blessings from each!
1) Coach Harris, our school contact person this morning, worked it out with Camfel to get a discount if he would house and feed us the night before. We already had free lodging this week, so we were able to save him some money for that. But concerning food, he gave us an envelope containing $50! That's just for dinner and breakfast!
2) We were planning to see the Shanghai Circus tomorrow. With all the discount ticket places in Branson, we figured we could find a way to avoid paying full price. At one discount ticket counter, we got a coupon for $10 off one ticket. That takes the edge off it! But even better, our we got front row seats. Sweet.
3) That evening, we went back to Pirate's Cove, our favorite mini golf chain we've played. And this one in Branson is our favorite of them all. We didn't think much of it at the time, but we played the last four holes in the dark. The manager came up to us as we sat at the end counting our scores. He apologized for the inconvenience, and explained that the lights were on a timer which had not been changed. So he gave us tokens for two free games. I guess we'll find some time on Saturday!
In addition, our boss Andrew graciously waived some unexpected personal miles during our travels this week, and the cashier at Walgreens saved us like three dollars on our already-small purchase.
So, we've felt blessed all throughout the day today. Morale is high going into our warm weekend :)
