Where I stayed
Staybridge has the stocked kitchenette of Candlewood, the free laundry of Candlewood (hallelujah), the free hot breakfast of Hampton or Holiday Inn Express (rare to have a kitchenette and free breakfast), and the relaxing common area of Hampton.
We've slept in more comfortable and cozy beds, but Staybridge's bed is certainly nothing to complain about. And though we also miss the DVD library of Candlewood, it's not a hill to die on.
So! All that said, we love our new hotel, and we love the fact that it will be our home for four consecutive nights. We've been exhausted for the past solid month as we've been hauling some very long drives through the region. It will be refreshing to stay in one place for some time.
Our first morning here in Colorado Springs, we invited our friends Zac and Anthony over one more time before they had to head out of town. We had bought some eggs, bacon, and other breakfast items the night before, and we served up a hot breakfast. I think this alludes to the fact that once Kelsey and I have our own kitchen, we'll be itching to have guests over.
Zac and Anthony ate with us and stayed and chatted for a little while longer, but they had to hit the road. Thanks, guys, for hanging out with us! We'll hope to cross paths again soon. :)
