We wrapped up our time here in our Iowa YFC block with a show at Timothy Christian School. It wasn't on our original schedule--it was added just a couple days ago.
The show ran fine until about four minutes from the end. Then, the left DVD skipped. Fine, I fixed it, then it immediately skipped again. As I was waiting to fix it again, the right DVD skipped. Oh my goodness. So now all three screens were showing something different. I fixed it again. It ran for a short while until the left DVD skipped again. And again. I fixed it once more, but then left it along and let it run until the show was done. Man. That's the fourth show this week that's done that. It's stressful and kinda embarassing. Furthermore, it's unexplainable.

But I'm glad it was only in the last few minutes of the show, so the distraction wasn't that severe. But the last minutes of the show we showed today were the strongest as far as inspiration and evangelism were concerned. It's always disappointing when the strongest portion of the show is interrupted.

But God wasn't worried.

As we were leaving, the principal came out and knocked on our window.

"Hey guys thanks so much for coming today."

"Thanks for having us!"

"I was just reading through the response cards, and one of the girls, one I've been praying for all year, marked that she wants to talk to someone about a relationship with God."

"Praise the Lord! Great!"

"Yeah she's been on my radar all year, and I was praying for her through the entire show. You see, she's come from a pretty rough family situation. Her father is in jail for murdering her mother. So now she lives with her grandparents, and she's been having a tough time with it. So I'm going to talk with her today about Jesus."

Cool, huh? God still works even when our equipment doesn't. This week has been nice since our YFC contact has been handing out response cards. We've been able to see first-hand how God has been using this video--our job and our life right now--in the hearts and minds of students. Just a nice reminder that we are at every school for a reason, and God is not limited by anything.
