Show trip route
Well, we have passed the "off-season and thus hotels are cheap" time of our journeys. So, this time in New Orleans, we stayed about 10 miles northwest of the French Quarter. We actually had a school show to do in the area this time, so we stayed close to the school, far from the city. We spent one day in town. The weather report called for upper 60's and sunny all week, so it didn't matter when we went, it should be nice. WELL - we went on Tuesday. Sunny when we left the hotel, cold by the time we were in N.O. It was not all a loss. We ate. We shopped a little. We went into the cathedral there and saw some beautiful paintings, reliefs, and a gilded Bible - pretty cool. I shot a few pictures before my camera batteries died. It was OK since I got so many pictures the first time we were here.
Monday we had spent in the hotel playing games, hangin out. I visited a doctor cause I hadn't been feeling well - All's OK now! And we went to Target to stock up on some things since we had a kitchen in our hotel for the week. I only mention this to preface the following pictures. It was a 2-story Target with the groceries on the 2nd floor. "How do you get a cart upstairs?" you ask? With the cart escalator!!!! SO COOL. Never seen one before - loved it.
Wednesday was the coolest day we had - we went on a swamp tour, but more on that in another note.
All in all, we enjoy New Orleans, the food, the art, the music. We'd just love to see it someday when it's not REALLY COLD!
