Well, since our Wednesday Jacksonville assembly was cancelled (to be re-scheduled), we've been left a little aimless. We didn't know whether we should head toward Rankin for that school in 9 days, or if we should hang around Arkansas just in case the school reschedules for next week. Our boss suggested we head toward Oklahoma City. So we did, and here we are. We have been booking (yes, booking--2 days at a time in case plans change) an Extended Stay Deluxe, where we are enjoying a little studio suite with kitchen. We bought groceries, and have been cooking our own meals (not in the microwave!) Kelsey baked cookies, I scrambled eggs, we prepared a chicken dinner... it's been nice.

On Friday, we went shopping in preparation for Valentine's Day. We wanted to buy Kelsey a new dress, because she didn't have anything nicer than her black pants. Gorgeous? Yes, but she wants to feel special. So we went to Kohls and bought a nice Valentine's Day outfit. We also bought a few more ingredients we'd need to prepare a dinner. Just in time for Valentine's Day on Saturday.... yeah... that's what we've been thinking all week! Until Friday night, when Kelsey was talking to her mom, and we realized that it's actually on Sunday... hm. Paradigm shift.

We had been planning to book a dinner or dessert or something on Saturday night, but everything was completely booked anyway. And apparently, that's not even Valentine's Day. It's tough to book a date weeks in advance when we don't even know where we're going to be the next week... or in this case, the next day.

But that's okay. The Olympics are on, and Kelsey absolutely loves them. And we have some more dinner fixings, and we've made some Valentines. And we even booked a dessert date at the Melting Pot for Monday night. We're just going to celebrate an entire Valentine's Weekend. :)
We'll even stop by the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial on our way out of town. Nothing spells romance like that, huh?

Enjoy your Valentine's Day, everyone!
