Where I stayed
Today we resolved to check off a huge errand from our to-do list. Kelsey still hasn't officially changed her name with social security. We've attempted to do so in Pittsburgh, hoped to do so in Battle Creek, failed to do so in middle Pennsylvania... Social Security has always eluded us. We needed to do it today, so we found the closest office in Grand Prairie.
We waited a while, as could be expected in any government office, but they had a pretty efficient system nonetheless. We were out of there in a little over an hour. No problem. And a huge weight could be lifted off our minds. That little errand had been in the back of my mind for so long that it had left a butt-print.
While we were out, we had dinner at TGI Friday's and enjoyed their 3 courses for 12.99 deal. We each got an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Love the green bean fries appetizer.
We stopped at Walmart to do a little grocery shopping, and then returned to our Ramada.
There, we discovered a disappointment. You see, our urgency in purchasing our Wii was in part due to our knowledge of this 5-day weekend. It would be nice to play it to pass some time. But when we hooked it up, we realized that this "Logenet" program had been installed in Ramada, which utliizes the TV input channels. I asked the front desk if there was any way around it, but they said no. Lodgenet, which allows viewers to purchase movies and games straight from the TV, doesn't allow guests to be able to do those things through the TV without going through them.
So now we have a useless Lodgenet station, and no way to play our own games. Disappointing, yes. But we're not yet so pathetic that we can't entertain ourselves otherwise.
So that's it for now, from Irving, TX. We'll see you later.
