Show trip route
Kelsey developed a cold yesterday, and she woke up this morning feeling even more sick. She summoned the strength to come to the school, though.
It was a pretty standard set-up I suppose. The stage was kinda small, and there was a sloped auditorium floor, and we had to set up the projectors in the seats. So all things considered, it was tough getting it to look nice.
Once we were set-up and ready to start the show, Kelsey went out to nap in the van. I held down the fort inside and ran two shows for the middle school. At the end of the second show, I had to lead a discussion with the 6th graders to fill some time before dismissal. We had such a great discussion! It was really encouraging, because the last time I had to lead a discussion, I was a bumbling mess of disjointed thoughts... pretty discouraging and embarassing. But today, God was gracious enough to not only give me time to prepare (I knew before the show that I'd lead a discussion), but also have clarity of thought in the moment to talk to the kids. So I had a lot of fun, and it was a positive, encouraging experience.
But that's about it. We packed up and headed to our weekend destination. We're up by New York City again, staying in a Ramada. It's -very- nice and comfortable--which is good! Because we're actually staying here for six nights. You see, our Monday through Thursday schools are all in the same city, so we found a nice hotel nearby that we can call home for the week.
That does a lot of good. After hopping from hotel to hotel every day, it is refreshing when we can actually settle in to a home base for an extended stay.
So that's our status. Kelsey's feeling a bit under the weather, but we have a restful weekend ahead of us.
Monk's on now. So I'm gonna go watch that. But keep posted for updated destinations (We're hitting Connecticut in about three weeks!).
Talk to you later!
We got mail again today. Got our new schedule--I'll post our upcoming destinations.
