Hey! Kelsey and I found a church on the island. We visited The Union Church at Seaside Park. I think that was the name of it. Nothing incredible to mention. It was a very traditional service. The sermon was nice, the first in a series about Joseph.

Kelsey and I noted that we are probably the last generation who can easily transition between "traditional" and "contemporary" services. Because, today, we still felt comfortable with the hymns and reading/responses, Gloria Patri, benedictions, etc. Yet we also enjoy the drums, powerpoints, and lighting displays of a contemporary service. The generations above us and below us may, in general, feel a little more uncomfortable in the other type of service. So.. that was our theory this morning.

After church, we found a little breakfast cafe and enjoyed pancakes and Belgian waffles. From there, we hit the beach again. It was an absolutely gorgeous day today. We threw the frisbee, got burned a little bit, buried me in the sand, and did some beachcombing. Like I mentioned yesterday, this beach has some very interesting things! This beach was literally littered with dead jellyfish! I had never seen a jellyfish before. These were just like clear silicon pads. Clear as glass, and jelly-like. And they were scattered across the shoreline, just sitting there. They weren't dangerous to touch--I picked them up, poked them... didn't get stung.
We also found several starfish, and some sort of... stingray skeleton or something. Couldn't identify it. But it was the size of a plate and looked like a stingray body.

We took a ride down the shoreline--it was a ski lift that ran parallel to the shore, right over the beach.

But then we were pretty much beached out. We packed up and drove to our next destination.
What a great weekend though! We feel very refreshed and relaxed going into this new week, ready to face the challenges that await. I just need to get the sand out from between my toes.
