In looking for a place to go to church on Sunday morning, we found a small listing in our hotel guidebook. It listed a baptist church, among some not-so-doctrinally-sound options. So, we called and discovered it had a 10:45 am service. Perfect!

It was a small church--maybe about 50 people. But this was the most multi-cultural church I have ever seen in my life. There were Asians, Jamaicans, Haitians, Yugoslavians, Hispanic, African-Americans, and little old white-haired ladies. And Kelsey and I. And the pastor is Philippino. Quite the mix! It was really cool to see how, first, a neighborhood could be so diverse. And second, how all those people could come together to worship as one every Sunday.

And we ate together! Every Sunday after service, there's a potluck lunch. We enjoyed talking with folks and eating some homemade meals.

Cool, huh? We might be in this area again, and we certainly would be welcomed back.

Kelsey posted our upcoming destinations. We'll be spending a lot of time in New Jersey the rest of this month. It's a bummer--the entries show the city, but not the state of the destination. We'll see if there's any way to clarify that.
