Well my birthday, the day before actually. I have started a tradition now of going away for my birthday every year. I never had very many good birthdays and those I did have were memories of traveling. This is the 4th year in a row. So the day is nice, we have been enjoying our very relaxing days reading by the pool, staring at the ocean and mountain.

We decide on a place with high reviews for dinner. Sam had decided we could celebrate the night before as we had to fly the morning after my birthday tomorrow. The pace is called Le' Mahogany. The chef had been on the Island 30 years and was well known. Well here is the disaster part. I have not been eating, mainly bread and fruit as the food is terrible and tonight took the prize. We knew the food would be different but whether misinformed or naive we didn't expect: My wife's Shrimp to come with the heads and eyes. She ate it anyway, god bless her heart. My Scallops had the Veins running through them, nothing was cleaned like back home. All of the food we encounter in French Polynesia was bad. They use sugar as a main export and therefore it is too valuable to be used in food. Everything is flavored with Coconut Milk or nothing. I have lost close to 10 pounds to date in less then a week. Sam was sick all night and feel asleep.

I enjoyed our upgraded Bungalow. It was not over water in Moorea, we would have that in Bora Bora later, however it did have a private (yet freezing) plunge pool and was overall gorgeous. In general I am dying for fast food at this place, my firstborn or left Nut for a Wendy's or BK right now!!! Not gonna happen.

Overall My birthday? Of course it was nice I am in paradise. My actual birthday tomorrow should be relaxing, we have to pack up once again and not much else, there is a native tribal show at night that should be fun. Was it boring, relaxing? Anything but....
