We spent the next day exploring a number of the small towns between Waikerie and Mannum and enjoyed a number of antique shops on the main road (great place for cheap antiques if you had a way of getting them home, not much room on the roof for another 20,000km)
We stopped at the service station on the way out of Mannum to fuel up and pulled up beside a guy fuelling up his car. As I got out he commented that we reminded him of himself when he travelled with his children around oz.
Long story short he invited us to use a nice grassed area that he had on the Murray not far out of Mannum. (It shows that people are nice in the world and if you take the time to look people in the eyes and have a chat you just never know who you may meet). (Great to meet you Rob and we will be there for the opening of the Marina). We spent a nice afternoon enjoying swimming off the back of one of his house boats and Jack managed to catch three 2-3 kg carp with a rod that Rob had lent us. We caught up on Robs plan to build a 100 berth Marina at the location we where at and had a nice quiet night at a nice place on the river.
