We managed to get to Marree and see the Melbourne Cup with all the locals at the Marree Pub. Got into a sweep and Sarah came second (I still haven't got the money I paid in yet) and Rachael got the lucky number (not sure how that worked but she won $25). The have a kids running race outside after the Melbourne cup, from the old Service station  pump to the pub about 200 metres), so all the kids entered and jack came first and Sarah second (the race was staggered depending on age). Then a calcutta for the adults is run - we got Bec to enter, the distance was a bit further. nice out come as she came third (well that is our story, the truth is there was only three in the race). The town had all come to the pub  for the cup (all 30 of them )
