Where I stayed
Went to the top of the Stratosphere Tower. Great view if you don't suffer from vertigo! Watched people pay $20 a go to be scared out of their wits on the rides up there.
Caught the bus to the far end of the strip, it only costs 7 bucks for a 24 hour pass. Started walking back taking in the sights. There are casinos and slot machines everywhere, and doggy guys on street corners trying to get you to take flyers for all the dive/strip joints in town, needless to say I wasn't tempted. By 5 p.m. I was about half way down the strip (about two and a half miles) and feeling a bit hungry so I grabbed a meal and headed for the Palazzo for the evening showing of the "Jersey Boys" - the musical of the life of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Set in the early sixties so it was my era and I enjoyed the show
Saturday 16th Jan 2010
I'm sat in the Las Vegas airport writing up my travel log (Yes Jan great Xmas present, and I have the miniature photo album with me too) its the only way I can remember things to put in the blog
(age related amnesia). It was another early start, up a 5 a.m. to grab a bite of breakfast before catching the coach to the airport. It's a bit chilly only about 9degs C with some black clouds on the horizon. The locals are hoping for rain as everywhere is so dry. Looking through the departure lounge windows I can see snow capped mountains in the distance. First flight departs to Los Angeles (on time) at 0940. I spend an hour on the ground at LA and then its off to San Francisco. I'm only about 45 years to late!
