Not to be outdone by the Snow

The flight loaded on time but the pilot decided there was to much ice on the wings so we had to join the queue to be de-iced. We finally took off 70 minutes late of which the pilot made up 60 of them by the time we landed in Nassau
I was due to leave Buckingham and catch the National Coach to LHR terminal 5 at 4 a.m. on Wednesday morning (6th Jan) but it started snowing and the forecast was for more snow so I decided to catch the train down on Tuesday evening. I tried to book into a hotel but everyone else must have decided to do the same thing! The only hotel rooms to be had was a luxury room at the Sofitel for a cost of £198 for the night, I commented that I only wanted a bed for the night and not to buy the place! So an uncomfortable night was spent in terminal 5 with the rest of the drop-outs. The club lounge opened at 5 a.m. so I was able to get cleaned up and have a bit of breakfast.
