So... yet another country to add to the passport. We have now visited 31 countries on the planet together... not bad!!

Our first stop in Bolivia was the town of Copacabana (not the beach in Rio de Janeiro, not yet anyway). This is the main town on Lake Titicaca on the Bolivian side. The town is known by its famous Basilica, home of the Virigin of Copacabana, its trout, and its quaint atmosphere. Our Lady of Copacabana is the patron saint of Bolivia.

First off.. itīs a nice little town, but the place was ABSOLUTELY *insert curse word of your choice here* FREEZING. The big, and only, story about our time here is simple.... our accommodation. The place that we stayed in cost us a massive €2.60 !!!!!!!!!!

Now... for the princely sum of €2.60, what do you get. Well, you get the following:
1. Double room
2. Private bathroom
3. Kitchen facilities
4. About 200 bed bugs wandering around the bed.

Now that is GOOD VALUE if you ask me!

Yes indeed folks... for the first time since leaving home, we encountered the little critters. Not since the cockroach in the bed incident in Guatemala have we encountered pesky insects. Did you know that female bedbugs can lay up to five eggs in a day and 500 during a lifetime.

Our problem was that we did not discover the chaps until we went to bed.... about 10.30pm, and there was a raging thunderstorm outside. We moved rooms, and got some kind of sleep, and as you can imagine we legged it out of the place next morning. In fact we ran all the ways out of Copacabana the next morning... all the ways to La Paz !!!

Scarper!!!!
