Another 7 hour bus journey, this time from Lima to Nazca. However, the bus company (Cruz del Sur) that we went with were fantastic... twas like flying in an airplane. They served us food... hot food at that... and they actually played some good movies, which obviously made the journey seem much quicker.

They have the double decker buses.. we sat up the top and up the very front, on the right hand side, therefore it felt as if we were back home driving a big massive car... complete with pretend steering wheel. On the way we passed a crash on the highway, there was a bus and a truck, the cabin of the truck was just demolished and there was a load of bodies lying beside the bus, if they were dead bodies or not we couldnīt tell, as we just drove straight on, but we were 100% that there was at least a few people killed. Horrible!!!!

Nazca... the home of the world famous Nazca Lines (click here to read all about them)
The thing to do in Nazca is to fly over the aforementioned lines.... in case you didnīt click on the above link... the lines are giant shapes carved into the desert, shapes of a spider, alien, monkey and hummingbird to mention a few.

We got an airplane all to oursleves... cost US$90... and the pilot flew us over the lines. The plane was a tiny ickle fart of a thing.... barely fitted both of us plus the pilot. Now... if you EVER go to Nazca, you just HAVE to fly over the lines... however... and this is a BIG however... be prepared to undergo a stomach churning experience. The flight is all about twists and turns, like something you see in the Red Bull Airshow!!!

Seeing the lines in the desert from above was absolutely amazing. There is a platform from which you can see some of the lines on the ground, but this is a pile of muck, you have to see them from the air to appreciate them fully.

When we returned to ground... Sarahīs legs were like jelly and she needed to have a sit down for a while.... told ya... stomach churning!!

Nazca done... back to Lima next before we head off on an adventure of a lifetime.
