Well, Costa Rica is up and running... our first stop was Tamarindo, or as the place should really be known as "Tamagringo"!!
The first thing that encountered our noses when upon arriving in the town was the overwhelming smell of molasses... they had just covered the roads and everything stuck to our shoes/flipping flops. The next thing we noticed in the town are all the tourists... they are everywhere!!!! The majority of the tourists here are Americanos... and they are all on holidays in "Kohstaa Reeeca"... all paying American prices!! Places are touristy for a reason... but this place kinda took the biscuit... everything overpriced... a simple milkshake cost US$2... ridiculous behaviour!
The only other thing to say about Tamagringo is that it is a good place to learn how to surf! That is of course if you donīt mind walking all over the "beautiful people" that are sunning themselves on the beach.... thongs īn all!
A three day stop... next up... a big Volcano thing!

01 Smelly molasses sticks the dust on the road
The reason that we came here was to try and get to see the Leatherback turtles do some of the nesting thingy on the beach nearby to the town. Within one hour of arrival we were told that the National Park had decided to shut up shop and not allow the tourists to look at the turtles! So we had to make do with looking at "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" en Espanol on the TV. The only other thing to say about Tamagringo is that it is a good place to learn how to surf!
