Bugger all to report here really!
The place was a let down or more to the point... WE let the place down!!
The island has an AWESOME setting... in the middle of Lago de Nicaragua, with nothing but 2 massive volcanos on the island rising up out of the water. The biggest of the two is Volcan Concepcion, stands at 1610 meters and is still active. The other is called Volcan Maderas and is 1310 meters high.
When we arived by ferry we were in no mood to do anything, so we just hung around the town of Moyogalpa, dive, for a day and a half before leaving. We did however, have an enjoyable night night drinkin and chattin with some Canadian folks called Paul and Betty... heh up Newfies!
Isla de Ometepe is a haven for hikers and nature lovers and weīd highly recommend it... however, we were just not up to it! Maybe the travelling is catching up with us... NAH....Rule 1 for travelling... accept it that you canīt do everything!!

The biggest thing to report was that our first night was spent trying to fix the plumbing in the room. First the shower started leaking, when I tried to screw the head of the shower on correctly.... zzzzzzzz ... you canīt beat a little electric shock therapy can you. Then at about 3am the jax decided to act up and kept gurgling and belching for an hour or so before Sarah used the infamous plumbing technique of tying up the flotation ball with a plastic bag!!! Bugger all sleep!Isla de Ometepe is a haven for hikers and nature lovers and weīd highly recommend it... however, we were just not up to it! Maybe the travelling is catching up with us...
