It was such a wonderful moment when she came in the room and saw Kelly and all the kids for the first time in 4 years. Tears were flowing, hugs were abundant and I documented the entire visit on camera. Uncle Harold and Aunt Ann were with us to share in the moment. We all ate and visited while Grandma and Tyler played hide and seek around the food boxes on the table. She kept saying, "bring that little boy over here... Tyler, get over here and sit with Grandma!" She was tickled pink with that little boy and his contagious energy level.
As everyone said good bye to Grandma, Harold and Ann, we knew that this visit was a special gift and all were grateful
On the road again... we headed toward the cabin in Pigeon Forge.
We arrived at the cabin after winding up and around the beautiful Smokey Mountains. Two of the 4 families had already arrived and were settling in. This place is AMAZING!! Our party consists of 18 people... 8 adults and 10 kids. The cabin sleeps 21 people, so everyone has a comfortable spot. The cabin is 3 stories high and sits on a cliff. The views are breathtaking. The porch wraps around the entire cabin and is equipped with rocking chairs, outdoor furnishings and a hot tub. A nice place to call Home Sweet Home... at least for a week!
We all had reservations for a dinner and dancing show at 6pm. The show was very entertaining, although the food was marginal. It was still a great beginning to our Smokey Mountain Vacation.
After dinner we decide to hit the local Walmart for some last minute groceries. And so did everyone else in TN. Enough said.
After Walmart Kelly and I hit the roads in search of a liquor store..
I will let you guess.... but let me preface your guess with this...we had a car full of groceries, driving in the dark, now in another city, and havent actually seen a liquor store since we've been in TN! We stop at a Gatlinburg store only to find out that they dont sell liquor on Sundays!! We are lucky they sell it at all!

Back at the cabin the girls gather around the extra large dining table and pull out games to play. We start with Fact or Crap.... but quickly decide its too difficult and more of a "learning" game. Then we pull out Balderdash and decide the same thing, only quicker. Our final choice was UNO and that seemed to work well for all of us.
It was an early night for everyone, as we were tired from traveling. Tomorrow is a day planned with many excursions including Zip Lining!
Stay tuned for our adventures in Gatlinburg!
