We are March 26 but since we could not get the Internet before today let's get "Hypnotized" together and follow the journey with me until today OK ? OK...
We are back after another day on the road. Remember the tip about the hotel versus motel, well it's now fuzzy. The room was fine and the mattress was good to sleep which is very important at a certain age but the breakfast was not as good as the hotel. So it is your choice depending on your priorities.
We were on the road early enough and arrived in Myrtle Beach around 2:30 pm. The place is the same but older. The camping is looking good and a villa is the best choice at this time of the year. Also there are about 5 other villas rented on a total of about 30. Plenty of place. It is a bargain, if you want to relax of course.
Tip: Choose Subway for lunch because in the States they put more stuff in the bun for the same price
Unfortunately our grocery store (Kroger) is closed. The end of an era for us. We almost turned around and went home! It was there the first time we came here in 1981.
But we must adapt to change and we had to rely on Piggly Wiggly for now. What a shame to rely on a pig for our groceries. Tip: please ask for a temp. visitor card before you shop so you save; it did save us $11us on our tab (of course we bought for $500, only kidding).
After putting everything together in the villa we went along for a walk. A lot more people here than when we normally come (beginning of March). It's still on the cool side (14c.) but it will be better tomorrow (so they say).
I tried to get free Internet. No luck. Everybody has a password. Don't they know I want to steal their signal. Then the camping tells me I can't get wireless in the villa because of tree covers. I will have to try outside close to the beach and see if it works.
Tip: Check very well before you come down because you assume that they offer Internet everywhere (no! no!).
But we are finally here and it is probably better than being close to snow.
Until another log....
