Children of Israel Cross the Jordan

“And as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of the L-rd, the L-rd of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, the waters that come down from upstream, and they shall stand as a heap.” (Joshua 3:13)

Eliyahu (Elijah) ascension to Heaven

"When the L-rd was about to take Eliyahu up to heaven in a whirlwind,..Elijah and Elisha stopped beside the Jordan River...As they were walking along, and talking, suddenly a chariot of fire appeared, drawn by horses of fire.  It drove between them, separating them, and Elijah was carried by a whirlwind into heaven." (2 Kings 2:1, 7, 11)

 The Baptisim of Yeshua

"After Yeshua went from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John...After his baptism, as Yeshua came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of G-d, descending like a dove and settling on him." (Matthew 3:13,16)

Yeshua (Jesus) ascension to Heaven

"When he had led them to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them.  While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.  They praised him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.  And they stayed continually at the temple, worshiping G-d." (Luke 24:50-53)
