went on a little trek yesterday morning to lake mojanda...again it was raining. at one point we stopped at the top and sat down for some lunch and i just bursted out laughing because it was so bad that it wsa almost comical! one minute it was sunny, the next was dark cloud with rain, and the next was dense fog and can barely see the 10 foot ahead. after that i picked up my backpack at the hotel and decided that i´ve had enough of ecuador so i jumped on to a bus heading for the border town tulcan. once hopped onto the bus there were two people with blond hair at the front (just can´t miss them!) and so i struck up a conversation (as they must also be heading towards colombia). we got to tulcan at night and decided to stay there for the night and get up early to cross the border early the next morning. having been through 2 borders so far, i kind of now know what to expect. it was pretty easy and straight forwards (i got a 60 days visa as opposed to the usual 30 as i expalined that it´s what i need...saves me from having to extend it later). we then jumped into a taxi and got to the bus terminal to catch a bus to pasto (the landscape en route is beautiful!), where we had guinea pig for lunch, which is kind of like rabbit (my new travel buddies, metti and robbie wanted to try it before they leave the continent...and i was happy to oblige!). then another long (scary!!!) bus ride to popayan, which is a beautiful colonial town where we are staying for the night (we arrived pretty late at around 9:30pm).
